SKYRC is a brand that produces many type chargers. In this article, we will take a look at the SKYRC T6X80 model.
Box Contents:
Out of the box charger, XT60 charging cable, AC power cord, balance board and book. The charging cable is only one type. Other common socket charging cables are not included.
The first impression:
The feature that is different from many chargers is that it has a touch color LCD screen. The color screen draws attention. The 3.2 inch screen is large enough and legible. It offers four color options as a theme color. It can be set as the main theme color in blue, red, yellow or green. The design of the charger looks nice.
The touch sensitivity of the screen is quite good. It is comfortable to navigate in menus. It has a user-friendly and understandable menu design. You don’t get lost while browsing the menu.
Technicial Specifications:
The Skyrc T6X80 charger is 80W. Maximum 8 Amps can be used as charging current. It has an internal AC / DC power supply. It operates in the voltage range of 100V-240V. If desired, it can be used with external power supply. There is a DC power supply input between 11-18V. As with all chargers, using the maximum current power is related to the voltage of the battery. For example, if we are going to charge a 6S (22.2V) lipo battery, the maximum current power setting should be 80 / 22.2 = 3.6A. Another example should be 80 / 11.1 = 7.2A maximum charge current if we are going to charge 3S (11.1V) battery. (Of course, if the battery supports this current)
Battery type is selected on the left side of the main screen. We determine the operation we will do on the right side. Such as charge, discharge, balanced charge etc. It can also be used as volt meter to see battery voltage and cell voltages. On the lower left side of the screen, we determine the number of cells and the capacity of the battery and press the START button to start charging.
Also at the bottom there is SETTING button to access the settings menu and PRESET button to return the settings to default values.
Charging data appears on the screen when charging begins. Duration, charge current, voltage and temperature values. There are two types of temperature values. These are E.Temp (External) and I.Temp (Internal). E.Temp shows the temperature of the battery. But to use this feature, it is necessary to buy a sensor. I.Temp shows the internal temperature of the charger.
While charging is in progress, we can monitor the voltage value of each cell with the BALANCE STATUS button at the bottom of the screen. And the GRAPH button graphically shows the charging status.
Result:
To date, I have used different models of many brands of chargers. Skyrc T6X80 model is one of the best among them. It has a quality, compact and aesthetic appearance. The touch screen is big, clear and convenient. The menu has a user-friendly design. Screen responses are fine. It can charge and discharge all types of charged batteries. 80 watts of power is sufficient for most batteries. But it may not be enough for those who use large batteries like 6S 10.000mah. 80W low power for high voltage and high capacity LiPo batteries. The charging time will be long. But chargers in this price range generally do not have higher power.
